Role Overview

Oversees the engineering organization's strategy, execution, and delivery while managing large technical teams and ensuring engineering excellence across all products and platforms. They are responsible for scaling engineering capabilities, driving technical innovation, and ensuring engineering efforts align with business objectives. Responsibilities include developing engineering strategies and technical roadmaps, managing engineering budgets and resource allocation, hiring and developing engineering talent, setting engineering standards and best practices, coordinating with product management on feature development, and ensuring timely delivery of technical projects. They oversee multiple engineering teams, establish engineering processes and methodologies, and drive technical decision-making at the organizational level. Daily activities include strategic planning, team leadership, project reviews, hiring activities, cross-functional collaboration, performance management, and reporting engineering progress to executive leadership. VPs of Engineering also foster engineering culture, drive innovation initiatives, manage technical debt and infrastructure investments, and represent engineering interests in company-wide strategic decisions.
