Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Data Engineer Intern to support our technology team in managing, processing, and improving data across the organization. This role provides hands-on experience in data pipelines, databases, data quality, and data integration — using tools such as SQL, Python, and n8n — while working closely with technology and business teams.
Data Pipeline & Integration
- Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines and data processing workflows using SQL, Python, and workflow automation tools such as n8n.
- Assist in collecting, transforming, and integrating data from various sources and systems (databases, APIs, files, and third-party platforms).
- Support data integration between applications, databases, and internal systems, including scheduled jobs and API/webhook-based data flows.
- Assist in monitoring data processes and troubleshooting data pipeline issues.
Database & Data Management
- Support the maintenance and organization of databases and data structures (PostgreSQL / MySQL, and cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery).
- Assist in writing and optimizing SQL queries to retrieve and process data efficiently.
- Support data cleaning, validation, and transformation to ensure data quality and usability.
- Assist in identifying and resolving data inconsistencies or quality issues.
Development & Business Support
- Work with available data to support reporting, analysis, and data-driven initiatives across the business.
- Assist in preparing datasets, reports, or data tools (dashboards in tools such as Looker Studio / Metabase) to support business and operational needs.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to understand data requirements and translate them into practical data solutions.
- Support the development and improvement of data processes based on business requirements, including automating recurring manual data tasks.
Collaboration & Continuous Learning
- Collaborate with developers, data teams, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Participate in data testing, documentation, technical discussions, and process improvement activities.
- Stay updated on relevant data technologies, tools, and best practices.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, communicate progress and challenges, and seek feedback to continuously improve technical skills.
Tech Stack You'll Work With
- Languages: SQL, Python (JavaScript/Node.js is a plus)
- Databases & Warehouse: PostgreSQL / MySQL, BigQuery
- Pipeline & Automation: n8n, scheduled jobs, REST APIs / webhooks
- Reporting: Looker Studio / Metabase, Google Sheets
- Tools: Git / GitHub, Docker, cloud platform basics (GCP)
Requirements
- Able to commit to a minimum 3-month internship period.
- Currently studying Computer Science, Data Science/Engineering, Statistics, IT, or a related field (or self-taught with equivalent projects).
- Basic SQL skills and an understanding of how relational databases work.
- Basic scripting ability in Python (or another language) for data processing.
- Exposure to n8n, Node.js, ETL concepts, or any cloud data platform is a strong plus.
- Detail-oriented about data accuracy, willing to learn, and able to communicate findings clearly.
