We develop digital products and services for the TRATON Group, the heavy truck and bus division of the Volkswagen Group. Our Connected Maps service delivers up-to-date online map information directly to vehicles, enhancing fleet performance and operational efficiency. The system supports over-the-air map data management and provides real-time map insights to various vehicle functions, improving routing, efficiency, and navigation capabilities for our customers’ fleets. The service is live for Scania and MAN and will be rolled out later to our Trucks in North and South America. We’re looking for passionate team members to help develop these essential functions for our current and our future vehicle fleet.
· Build, test, deploy, and run backend solutions using AWS cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices. Build products that directly interact with our vehicle fleet and customer systems.
· Apply excellent problem-solving skills to design consistent and reliable solutions and systems.
· Write high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code using Python.
· Follow Clean Code and Clean Architecture principles and apply common design patterns.
· Take end-to-end ownership of your products, collaborating with your international developer, architecture, and testing colleagues.
· Take initiative to solve problems and overcome roadblocks.
· Collaborate with your global team to improve services, tooling, and processes.
Minimum qualifications:
· Bachelor‘s degree or equivalent job experience.
· 5+ years of software development experience.
· Proven record of excellent problem-solving skills.
· Strong experience with Python and related frameworks, preferably Flask.
· Experience with at least one cloud provider and their CDK, preferably AWS.
· Experience in using CI/CD pipelines effectively, preferably GitLab.
· Experience in System Design, scaling and maintaining solutions.
· Proven experience with Clean Code and Clean Architecture principles.
· Fluent English skills.
Preferred qualifications:
· Master’s degree in computer science or related technical field.
· Proven experience with event-driven and microservice architectures.
· Proven experience with API design.
· Proven experience in designing, building, and implementing complex software solutions.
· Knowledge of AWS cloud solutions, especially AWS Lambda, EC2, S3, CloudFront, and DocumentDB.
· Experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
· Experience with development in other object-oriented programming languages, e.g. Java, Kotlin.
· Knowledge of embedded development, e.g. C++ or Adaptive Autosar, is an advantage.
