As an Assistant General Counsel here at Honeywell India, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic legal advice and support to our business units and corporate functions. Your expertise in handling corporate matters for a large corporation, working in a highly matrixed organization, closely working with other functions like tax, finance, HR etc. on strategic and tactical matters, developing a great team of lawyers, IP professionals, compliance professionals etc. would be instrumental in driving our success.

You will report directly to VP and General Counsel, India and you’ll work out of our Bengaluru office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee legal operations and device frameworks, processes and tools to ensure smooth operations in Honeywell. 
• Work closely with Lawyers, functional leaders, outside counsel and consultants to ensure 100% compliance to various statutes. Lead programs like quarterly compliance review meetings, review of CLM tool, litigation tracking tool, internal reports etc. to identify risks, device mitigation, improve processes to reduce cycle time – all with a customer first mindset. 
• Develop and implement legal strategies to protect the company's interests and mitigate risks. 
• Advice, lead, partner with business GCs, sales professionals or other functions as the case may be, to manage bid submissions and deal closure. 
• Review and negotiate contracts, or support review and negotiation of contracts and other legal documents including joint venture agreements, sales contracts, NDAs, distribution agreements etc. and closely work with commercial contract group, SBG GCs etc. to ensure timely closure of items. 
• Provide legal advice and support to internal stakeholders on various legal matters
• Manage external legal counsel and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Oversee all litigations across business and functions including labor cases and other matters. Review of past due cases and support business GCs as necessary. 

YOU MUST HAVE

• 12+ years of experience practicing law
• Good commercial acumen, experience in handling large industrial sales deals. 
• Strong knowledge of legal compliance, risk management, and litigation handling
• Experience managing legal risks and providing strategic legal advice
