As our IT Systems Administrator, you will provide general IT support for the Greens Creek mine site. Every day you will work at a mine site on a remote island about 18 miles outside of Juneau, Alaska. You’ll start everyday planning and prioritizing work activities, using time efficiently and effectively. You will be called upon to assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers, phones, and mobiles devices, providing general IT support. To thrive in this role, you must have the initiative to keep abreast of rapidly changing technical developments and opportunities, communicating them with the IT Director and your colleagues. We’re on a remote island, you must know how to work independently and be available to respond during non-working hours for urgent situations.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Greens Creek Lead Systems Analyst, IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day execution of Greens Creek IT department business system services in a Windows and O365 multi-tenant environment. The IT Systems Administrator partners with Corporate IT to ensure effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of IT hardware, software, and related infrastructure. Scope includes secure and reliable IT: networks, end- user computers, Fiber/Ethernet/Internet Service Provider (ISP) interfaces, along with border connectivity to OT SCADA. This individual works within the Hecla IT team to ensure Greens Creek business IT infrastructure, operating systems, and software systems are executed and documented in a consistent manner using the ticketing system and documented procedures to meet site needs within an enterprise environment. Individual must be self-driven and be able to work independently, as this position frequently works without direct supervision.

Walking Test | Begin walking (on treadmill if available) at client selected pace for 3 min. Increase incline to 10% for 2 min. Must maintain constant movement, but do not need to move at a certain step speed. |
Dynamic Balance | Walk heel-toe for 10 feet without losing balance. |
Kneeling Test | Kneel on one knee, then return to standing. Repeat on opposite knee. Do 5 times. |
Sitting Rotations | In a sitting position facing forward, rotate to the right to pick up an object. Rotate left placing the object on a table. Repeat continuously for 3 minutes. |
Office Supply Carry | Lift 25 pounds off of floor with two hands and carry for 50 feet. |
Office Supply Carry | Lift 50 pounds off of floor with two hands and carry for 20 feet. |
Work Environment & Job Schedule
Employees may be occasionally exposed to underground work environments; outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold, extreme heat, potentially hazardous wildlife; moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration. The noise level in most work environments is usually very loud. This position may occasionally require work on nights or weekends.
