The Role Our Leapfrog team is looking for a curious, collaborative Associate Software Engineer to join us. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate with internship experience or someone with up to 6–12 months of experience who is eager to learn and grow. You’ll contribute to building our world-leading desktop geological modelling software, while working closely with experienced engineers and domain experts across Seequent. Day-to-day, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how we design, build, and improve our products, and gradually make a real impact. We value teamwork, curiosity, and a passion for learning. You’ll be supported as you develop your technical skills, gain exposure to complex real-world problems, and grow your confidence as an engineer. In this role, you will: Contribute to improving the UI, backend systems, and core libraries with guidance from senior engineers. Write clean, maintainable, and testable code. Help troubleshoot issues and continuously improve the product. Participate in code reviews and learn engineering best practices. Support release cycles from planning through to rollout (no on-call required). Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team including engineers, a Product Manager, and a Product Designer. Learn to understand customer problems and contribute ideas toward practical solutions. To be successful in this role, you should have: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or be close to graduating). 6–12 months of experience in software development. Exposure to Python or C/C++ through coursework, projects, or internships. Basic understanding of software development practices (e.g. version control, testing). Curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a proactive attitude. Strong teamwork and communication skills. An interest in maths, science would be an additional advantage.
