The Administrative Hearings Division in the NYCHA Law Department’s Housing Litigation Unit works closely with Development Management and outside agencies while handling administrative cases at the Office of Impartial Hearing.
Under the supervision of the Chief and Manager of the Administrative Hearings Division and Chronic Rent Delinquency/Non-Verifiable Income Unit, responsibilities of the Community Associate position include, but are not limited to performing the following tasks:
- Assist in responding to requests from NYPD, OIG and Legal Advocacy groups on individual complex cases.
- Work in coordination with property management and Section 8 to ensure the quality of the voluminous cases.
- Work closely with support staff, Housing Assistants and Attorneys in the Division to handle internal reports on Key Performance Indicators for the Chief’s review.
- Perform difficult and responsible clerical operations.

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
