The Operational Excellence (OEx) Specialist supports the deployment, adoption, and sustainment of DNV Energy System’s Operational Excellence model within a digital, software‑driven business environment. The role focuses on facilitating standard OEx practices and supporting teams in continuous improvement in a digital environment, while escalating risks, blockers, and decision needs in a structured way.
This role is designed for an Operational Excellence professional who has experience applying Lean and continuous improvement principles in digital, IT, or software delivery contexts, and who enjoys coaching teams, enabling structured improvement, and working within a global governance framework.
As part of the global Operational Excellence team, the role contributes to step‑change improvements in operational performance across the Digital Data House, aligned with the strategy of DNV Energy Systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and sustainment of the OEx model within assigned areas, following defined standards, governance, and road maps
- Apply OEx tools and methodologies (e.g. problem solving, standard work, visual management, basic Lean tools) as defined by the OEx framework in a digital environment
- Ensure local practices are aligned with the global OEx standards
- Support the identification, prioritization, and improvement pilots implementation across the Global Business Unit with the Global Operational Excellence team
- Facilitate and support manager‑ and employee‑led improvement initiatives, ensuring structure, learning, and benefit realization
- Escalate risks and problems to the local Operational Excellence Manager and the global Operational Excellence team and share lessons learned
- Provide hands‑on coaching to managers and teams on applying OEx practices in day‑to‑day digital work
- Deliver Operational Excellence training and awareness sessions (virtual and in‑person)
- Occasional travel may be required.

Required experience:
- 3+ years of experience in Operational Excellence, Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, DevOps, or similar continuous improvement methodologies, applied in digital, IT, or software development environments.
- Proven experience optimizing processes, productivity, and efficiency in teams and projects, with measurable results.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience coaching or facilitating teams and managers to adopt new ways of working and operational best practices.
- Involvement in digital transformation initiatives focused on processes, ways of working, or supporting tools.
- Experience working within structured frameworks, standards, or governance models.
Nice to have:
- Proven experience in change management (or a strong interest)
- Management or lean consulting work experience is a plus
- Familiarity with Agile or DevOps concepts from an improvement perspective (not hands‑on engineering)
- Software development environment work experience is a plus.
