Job summary

DigiCert is looking for a motivated UX Design & Research Intern to join our User Experience team. This role blends UX Design and UX Research responsibilities, giving you the chance to explore both disciplines while learning directly from senior and staff-level designers.

You’ll support projects that shape DigiCert’s product experiences and get hands-on with industry-standard tools like Figma, Maze, and Pendo analytics while also experimenting with the latest AI-powered tools (e.g., Figma Make, generative research assistants) to supercharge design and research workflows.

What you will do

• UX Research Support:

  • Assist in setting up and running moderated and unmoderated usability studies using Maze.
  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize data from research studies and Pendo analytics tool, turning insights into recommendations.
  • Research and document competitor products and experiences to identify best practices and opportunities for differentiation.
  • Summarize research findings into actionable insights for the design team.
  • Support senior researchers and designers in preparing study plans, discussion guides, and participant feedback documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share findings and track how insights influence product design.

  UX Design Support:

  • Collaborate with senior/staff designers in Figma to create and iterate on wireframes, prototypes, and design assets.
  • Create and maintain a Figma component library that supports product team workflows while staying consistent with the org-wide design system.
  • Contribute to product concepts by applying design best practices and user insights.
  • Work with existing design patterns and style guides to maintain consistency across products.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing feedback and learning from experienced designers.
  • Ensure designs are tested with users and validated against research insights.
  • Experiment with AI-powered design tools (like Figma Make, V0) to accelerate ideation, pattern generation, and design exploration.

What you will have

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, Psychology, or related field.
• Familiarity with UX research methods (e.g., usability testing, competitive analysis, interviews, surveys).
• Basic design skills and knowledge of Figma or similar tools.
• Interest in experimenting with AI-based UX tools and emerging workflows.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn from a senior UX team.

Nice to have

• Experience with analytics or testing platforms (e.g., Maze, Pendo, Google Analytics).
• Previous internship, class project, or portfolio work in UX design or research.
• Interest in AI, automation, and the future of design-tech collaboration.
