The Role:
As the Product Manager for the organization's Public Financial Management initiatives, you will play a pivotal role in defining and evolving a flagship Fiscal Information Exchange platform's specifications and creating products and/or defining standards that help governments improve financial health and enhance service delivery to citizens. Collaborating within cross-functional teams and partners across the Public Financial Management (PFM) ecosystem, you will develop a deep understanding of the challenges in public finance. Your role will span the entire product lifecycle — from problem framing and defining the product vision to driving execution, launch, and growth.

What You'll Do:
A. Drive Product Vision and Strategy:
- Develop and articulate a compelling product vision for the platform, aligning with the PFM mission and user needs to inspire change in the public finance ecosystem.
- Conduct domain and user research to identify pain points and opportunities, ensuring the product narrative resonates with stakeholders.
- Communicate the product vision and strategy effectively to internal and external stakeholders to secure buy-in.
B. Lead Product Design and Development:
- Lead the product design and development process, collaborating with designers, developers, and domain experts to ensure the platform is built effectively and adopted widely.
- Maintain alignment with project timelines and budgets, fostering a culture of accountability throughout the product life cycle.
- Own the documentation process for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring it is integrated into the product's development and adoption strategy from the start.
C. Champion Product Launch and Evolution:
- Spearhead the growth and adoption of the platform, ensuring it delivers measurable value to users and meets their needs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive product launch plans, including training and communication strategies that engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Track and monitor product performance using key metrics to measure success, and identify opportunities for improvement.
D. Engage and Collaborate with Stakeholders:
- Build and nurture a community of contributors and partners to enhance product capabilities and drive engagement.
- Communicate product progress and insights to the leadership team, advocating for the platform internally and externally through webinars, forums, and other channels.
Requirements:
- You are committed to using technology for social good.
- You bring 6+ years of experience in different aspects of product development and management, from problem discovery to design, development, and launch, with a proven track record of taking products from concept to scale.
- You excel in user research, prioritisation, and prototyping.
- Knowledge of Public Financial Management or related fields, with a strong understanding of the PFM cycle across both revenue and expenditure streams.
- Familiarity with financial management systems and an understanding of data standards would be an advantage.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and are proactive.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment and have experience working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in a 0-to-1 journey for a product for the public sector.
