The Role Reporting to the Director, Platform Data Strategy, we are seeking a Senior AI Developer to join Seequent’s Vancouver-based team. This hybrid role combines remote work with two days per week in the office. The Senior AI Developer will play a key role in building and delivering Generative AI (Gen AI) capabilities within Seequent Evo, our geoscience data platform. You will turn prototypes into deployed, scalable product features that help customers understand semantic meaning in their data, automate workflows, and interact with AI agents. This position offers the opportunity to influence how Gen AI is integrated into Seequent products and to grow into leadership responsibilities as the team expands. In this role, you will have the opportunity to Collaborate with global team members and cross-functional stakeholders to build sustainable Gen AI products. Influence engineers, data scientists, and leadership to develop applied AI solutions for real-world geoscience workflows. Turn prototypes into deployed, operational features on Seequent’s cloud infrastructure. Build and maintain evaluation systems to iteratively improve models and products. Ensure customer data is secure, used according to consent, and processed ethically. Act as a subject-matter expert in AI/ML design discussions with product and engineering teams. Contribute to the maintenance and generalization of existing ML and analytics tools. Continuously expand knowledge in geosciences, AI/ML, analytics, and software delivery. Grow into leadership opportunities, guiding future AI initiatives within the team. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field. 7+ years in software engineering or data science roles. 1+ years building and operating Generative AI products using LLMs in production. Commercial software development experience with Python and cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred). Proven experience designing, building, and deploying Gen AI applications. Familiarity with RAG systems, semantic search, vector databases, LangChain, agentic frameworks (LangGraph / Google ADK). Experience with Google Vertex AI, Gen AI SDK, and AI model evaluation frameworks. Knowledge of MCP, A2A, or similar agentic protocols is a plus.
