Company Product and Design Knowledge Questions

Demonstrate a well researched understanding of the company, its major products, target users, market position, and core business model, combined with familiarity with the company design philosophy and visible product design patterns. Prepare to speak about flagship products and features, typical user demographics and needs, the engineering or product challenges the company faces, and how those constraints shape product and design decisions. For design roles, be ready to articulate what you admire about the company design aesthetic, specific patterns or interactions you observe, accessibility and usability trade offs, and how your own design sensibilities or past work align with and could contribute to that aesthetic. For non design roles, emphasize product priorities, technical or operational challenges, and how your skills would help advance those products. Cite concrete examples such as a recent feature, a product workflow, a known engineering challenge, or public design documentation to show you have done focused research.

A designer proposes removing a small confirmation dialog to streamline checkout. As the BI analyst, what pre-launch analyses and post-launch monitoring would you perform to ensure removal does not increase accidental purchases, refunds, or support contacts? Specify metrics, instrumentation points, guardrails, and rollback criteria.

Describe how you would define and implement a semantic metric 'time_to_first_value' in a BI platform so product teams can track how quickly new users derive value. Include: a clear definition of 'value', event instrumentation needed, a sample LookML or semantic-layer measure definition, and dashboard visualization recommendations.

Scenario: Build an executive-facing product design health snapshot. Recommend six top-line metrics that give an immediate sense of product and design health for executives, explain why each matters, and propose one headline visualization and a one-sentence interpretation you would include on the dashboard.

Explain what 'design system parity' across platforms means. As a BI analyst, propose five metrics or signals and associated dashboards you would create to ensure feature and UX parity between web, iOS, and Android. Explain how you would detect divergence and prioritize fixes.
HardSystem Design

Hard system design: Design a versioning and governance strategy for product metrics (for example active_user_v1, active_user_v2) in a BI platform so that dashboards are auditable, reproducible, and consumers can transition smoothly between metric versions. Describe metadata, API or catalog UI elements, migration and rollback strategies, and how to handle backfills.
